become-policeMany folks, from the time they’re young and watching shows like the X-files and twenty-four have a wish to begin a vocation in law enforcement and think that all that you need to get the job is a highschool diploma. That actually isn’t the case, as there are plenty of candidates and only about ten percent of them successfully land the job. So you want to know how to become a police officer with ease? Have a look at ten things you must have done (or should be doing) if you need to guarantee that you are one of those ten percent. One. Get a bachelor’s degree, ideally in criminal justice, psychology, business administration, or English two. Learn a second language, ideally one spoken in the area in which you are applying three. Participate in community events and give community service four. Get into shape. Ensure you can lift heavy objects (150 lbs) and run 1.5 miles in under 12 mins five. Go with a police officer on a ride-along to gain valuable police experience six. Take a tour of the police dep. and start to know some of the folks that work there seven. Join the army or get some type of job working security for some on-the-job experience eight.

Refrain from any drugs, alcohol, and heavy boogying nine. Learn basic first-aid and CPR talents ten. Take part in scouting / girl scouts and achieve the highest rank ( if under eighteen ) naturally there are more things you can do to become a police officer and each county has a different set of expectancies and axioms which you’ll need to investigate.

Talk to law enforcement officials and ask them for recommendation – they know best. Try and a build a relationship with them so you may use them as a reference and as a recommendation.
